In 2018 AnswerThePublic conquered the world of SEO and content. You can determine hundreds if not thousands of topics, keywords, and subheadings at the touch of a button.

Several competitors have now emerged, but they all work slightly differently, and AnswerThePublic is still the market leader.

Since every entrepreneur and marketer should know the tool, it is high time to tell you all about it.

What is AnswerThePublic?

AnswerThePublic is a program that gives you input for your content strategy and keyword analysis by combining and automatically completing human searches.

You will see the results divided into five subjects. The subjects are:

  • Questions
  • Introduce
  • Comparisons
  • Alphabetical order
  • Related

With the output of AnswerThePublic, you can define your subheadings, sort out blog topics, set up social media posts, generate ideas and much more.

How and how I use AnswerThePublic in my content strategy

I use AnwerThePublic in several ways for my website and that of my customers. I will list some of those ways for you:

First, I use the tool during the orientation phase. Consider, for example, a keyword analysis, analyzing competitors. During this phase, I want to find as much information about the subject as possible.

The second way is when I am next writing lyrics. As you may already know, I am a fan of determining the subheadings and thus your blog's topics before you write a text.

If I need some more subheadings or want to know more about the subject, I will reach out to AnswerThePublic.

Way three is when I don't know the target group that well yet. What does anyone think? What is he looking for? What does he or she find important? Those are all things you can find out with AnswerThePublic.

Advantages and Disadvantages of AnswerThePublic

As you are used to from me, I would like to list the pros and cons. And we start with the benefits:

  • AnswerThePublic is free to use
  • You can use the tool in the most common languages, including Dutch.
  • I have never had any problems with the tool. It always works smoothly.
  • You can easily download the visuals that you can use immediately during your .analyzes/presentations.

And the cons are:

  • You need a paid account to view per region
  • The tool used to be unlimited in use. If you use it a lot now, you will get a kind of time-out after a certain period of time.
  • If you enter an English term such as 'online marketing, you will sometimes get English results even though you have set the Dutch language.
  • Of course, the latter makes sense, but AnswerThePublic is working harder to develop the paid version than the free version.

And that's a nice bridge to the next topic: is it worth buying AnswerThePublic Pro?

AnswerThePublic Free Variant vs the paid AnswerThePublic Pro

AnwserThePublic Pro, if paid monthly, costs $ 99 per month.

And if you pay per year, it will cost you $ 79 per month. Which I both think a lot of money for what you get.

You get the following extra:

  • Unlimited number of searches
  • Comparing data and new suggestions
  • Results based on language and location
  • High-quality images
  • Better support
  • Saving reports
  • Unlimited number of people from your team who can log in
  • Hiding unwanted parts
  • Hide individual suggestions

Sure, there are nice extra features in between, but in the two years that I've been using AnswerThePublic, I've never thought I needed the Pro for a second.

And if I don't already have that, then you certainly don't.

Then you better spend that $ 79 per month on a Mangools or SEMrush account.

AnswerThePublic alternatives

In recent years I have not come across a tool that can do what AnswerThePublic can do, or that does what AnswerThePublic does.

That does not mean that they are not there, just that I have not encountered them.

There are two tools I know of that are similar to AnswerThePublic:

  • Entity Explorer
  • Also Asked

The Entity Explorer shows entities that are relevant to your target audience. This way, you can easily determine new topics for your blog.

Entities are an important part of semantic search. It is difficult to explain this succinctly but put. It means that Google understands not only the words but also the content and content around them.

Simple example: Google understands that a t-shirt can fit with a washing machine and football. And they are both different entities.

Also, Asked is very similar to AnswerThePublic, except that the tool works completely differently.

Also, Asked does not show any suggestions but literally shows what people have ALSO entered.

So if someone ever filled in something about Star Wars, they kept a record of what else they entered (and what is relevant to the subject).

And it will look like this.

You can also use this in the same way as I described earlier.

Conclusion

My conclusion is actually straightforward: get started with AnswerThePublic. It should become a habit to apply the tool in your content strategy during your keyword analysis and blogging.

Since there are a few functionalities in the Pro version and not in the free version, which is useful, I, unfortunately, cannot give 10 ...

But I do close this AnswerThePublic review with a 9.5 / 10!
