- 8. Final Thoughts About Jungle Scout
Jungle Scout was launched in 2015 with the goal of helping Amazon sellers find profitable products to sell while taking the guesswork out. In it’s first two years, Jungle Scout gained over 100,000 monthly users that span across the world. They offer free resources, a paid web app, and a paid Google Chrome Extension, all of which enable Amazon sellers to be more profitable and successful.
“Jungle Scout is for anyone with the entrepreneurial ambition to start and grow a business.” In a few short months, I was able to go from $0 in sales to over $23,000 because of the Jungle Scout products that I used. My goal is that by the end of this Jungle Scout review, you will be able to decide if the program is right for you.
What is Jungle Scout App?
The Jungle Scout company has a range of software products such as Fetcher, Splitly, Forecastly, Jungle Scout Market as well as the Jungle Scout software and extension. All of their products are designed to help Amazon Sellers. The company is headquartered in Austin, Texas and was founded in 2015 by Greg Mercer. They have over 120 employees across the USA, Canada and China.
I’m going to take a look specifically at two Jungle Scout products. One is a software product and the other is a Chrome extension. Both products serve the same purpose. They are both research tools. The difference is in the features of each product. You can also purchase and use both products as a bundle.
How Does Jungle Scout Pro App Work?
As mentioned earlier, Jungle Scout is a product research tool that enables the user to determine which items are worth selling on Amazon. It is capable of tracking a product’s daily and monthly sales, customer reviews, and ratings which further helps the user to identify which ones are performing well in the market. The exciting part is, it also allows the user to monitor your competitors’ product listings, daily sales, and fluctuations.
There are two ways to enjoy the benefits of Jungle Scout: the Web App and the Chrome Extension. You will learn more about these two in the coming sections.
Who Is Jungle Scout For?
The software and extension are best suited for anyone who wants to be an Amazon Seller. Amazon Sellers are different from Amazon Associates. Amazon Sellers connect with companies that supply products to Amazon and act as an intermediary or affiliate to those suppliers for selling specifically on Amazon.
Amazon Associates are usually bloggers who promote Amazon products on their website. They can also be affiliates of other programs as well.
So what’s the difference? Amazon Sellers are more connected to actual customers because they will keep track of products and purchases. They do not have to actually maintain a physical inventory of products. That is all left up to the suppliers that supply Amazon.
Amazon Associates promote Amazon products on their websites by providing direct links to products that their visitors can click on. The Amazon Associate will earn a commission for any products purchased within a 24-hour period.
Jungle Scout Pro Estimator Features Reviews
Below, I’m going to outline the two main Jungle Scout products and outline the differences between the two. The products can be bought individually but you can also combine them both in a bundle for even more features.
Jungle Scout Software
The Jungle Scout software contains loads of tools that can help find products to sell quickly and easily. Some of the main features of the software are:
Product database
The product database lists over 70 million products that are pulled directly from the Amazon catalog. The database allows you to pre-set filters such as categories, sales rank, revenue, and estimated sales.
Jungle Scout Tracker
This feature tracks your potential ideas over time, monitors the best seller rank, sales, price and daily inventory using accurate up-to-date information.
Supplier Database
Jungle Scout’s Supplier Database is a powerful supplier search engine that assists you in finding source manufacturers, vendors, suppliers, and trading companies for your Amazon products.
With Jungle Scout’s updated Power Features (2020) – you can now search using the Amazon ASIN Sales Estimator. You can see supplier details including shipments and volume purchased. You can also save suppliers to lists and use the new Supplier Tracker feature to compare prices and save contact details as you interact with various suppliers.
Supplier Database ASIN
Now, if you have Amazon’s product identification code (the ASIN), you can input this into the suppliers' database and it will provide you with the exact company that manufactured and/or supplied the item. For example, if you’re utilizing your Jungle Scout Chrome extension to hunt for products on Amazon and find an Opportunity Score 8 product, you can find out where the top sellers in that niche source their products from directly.
Keyword Scout
This is one of my favourite features of Jungle Scout, its similar to tools that analyse search data from Google and other search engines but this one is solely for analysing customer search queries within Amazon.
This will give you a good idea about what people are searching for, analyse the results of those searches and see if there are any product opportunities.
Jungle Scout Launch Tool
The Launch tool is designed to send automated customer emails about the Amazon products you are selling. You can also follow up with customers to make sure they don’t have any issues with their products and have received their products in a timely manner. This is an excellent opportunity for you to ask them to leave feedback on the product.
Opportunity Finder
Unfortunately, this is one of the features that is not available on the free trial version of Jungle Scout, so I couldn’t play around with it and give an honest assessment.
What I have read and seen about this feature is promising, it’s a feature exclusive to Jungle Scout and it basically allows you to search for good product opportunities in any Amazon category.
You can filter your search results by category, units sold, competition, average price, list quality score and opportunity score. Most of the filters are self-explanatory, however, terms like list quality score and opportunity score will be completely new to some people.
Fortunately, Jungle Scout have a very helpful support section where they explain what the data means.
So, the list quality score is basically a score from Jungle Scout that grades the overall quality of a product listing. While opportunity score is an overall grade on how good of an opportunity selling that product will provide, this score is based upon on things like price, competition, reviews and overall ratings.
Jungle Scout Chrome Extension Pro
The extension is a product research tool that works with Amazon’s database to give you information on products you may be interested in selling. You can find sales data, product data, Google trend analysis, historical Best Sellers Rank and more. It’s a slimmed down version of the software. One of the great features of the extension is the Opportunity Score of a product. The closer to 10 in the score, the better the opportunity. You can also see in the image below that the Opportunity Score has a green circle around it essentially giving you the “green light” for the product.

- I actually use Jungle Scout's Pro chrome extension and I find it immensely valuable. To be able to see all the data really quick, it makes my first level of product research done in literally seconds. While I don't think it's the one stop shop tool for everything, I think it's definitely part of the total solution. I prefer the pay once with the extension versus a monthly fee.
- The jungle scount product tracker is useful, it's essentially the 999+ inventory trick but automated allowing you to monitor the inventory of whatever ASIN you want.
- The Junglescout extension is useful, but I agree with the other who've commented here...Junglescout is overpriced, there are so many alternatives out there that are much cheaper.
- JS web app doesn't need Amazon to function. The chrome extension you may need to sign into your Amazon account but I'm sure it would work by just searching for something and clicking the icon. Nothing you'd have to pay for other than the programs themselves.
Final Thoughts About Jungle Scout
While I’ve noted that there’s no guarantee with this product, that’s not necessarily an uncommon claim. All products of this nature usually state that they cannot guarantee results. This is because they have no control over how people will use the product. But it looks like Jungle Scout has made it almost impossible to fail. There are so many helpful tools around products, sales, inventory, shipping, training videos, etc., that it seems that it would be difficult to fail.
