Printify Premium Reviews: How Does Printify Work?

Printify is a print on demand platform that handles product creation and fulfillment. They aren’t a print on demand service themselves. Rather, they connect you to a variety of other print on demand services, which gives you access to a huge variety of products.

In fact, you currently have access to 150+ unique products, including clothing, home decor, and lots more.

In a nutshell, the process works like this:

  • Create a design on Printify by uploading your design to Printify’s design creation tool.
  • Preview and tweak your design on a real-time mockup
  • Set pricing and product variations
  • Publish your design to WooCommerce with one click
  • Accept orders via your WooCommerce store like normal
  • Printify fulfills orders via your chosen print on demand provider. They’ll even use your own branding to make things more personalized
  • Profit!

The implementation is really well done, so I encourage you to read the next section where I go hands-on and show you how everything works.

  • Printify’s print on demand service provides users a revenue-generating opportunity with minimal upfront investment. If you don’t yet have a website, you can quickly set up WooCommerce on WordPress after purchasing a domain and hosting for a very small investment.
  • Printify offers Direct to Garment printing for T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, tank tops, and other apparel. Besides clothing, their product catalog of 150+ items includes:
    • Shower curtains
    • Cell phone cases
    • Backpacks and tote bags

  • Printify has a print provider network (U.S., UK, China, Canada) that allows you to choose who you want to supply and print your product.
  • Through their service, you can access all of their print providers in one place and select them by price, quality, and variable options (e.g., colors, sizes, printable areas, location). This gives you the ability to select the provider/manufacturer that is most appropriate for your needs. It also gives you the opportunity to get shipping at lower rates by choosing a provider that is located closer to your target audience.
  • Some of the available print providers include ArtGun, Colorado Timberline, Fifth Sun, Prodigi, T Shirt & Sons, The Dream Junction, and SPOKE Custom Products.

  • If your customer receives a damaged product (e.g., bad quality, incorrect printing), Printify will send out a replacement. Their terms are covered further in their Merchant Protection policy.
  • If there are problems with a reprint, a full refund may be placed to your Printify account. The errors that Printify covers are explained in their Terms of Service.
  • Printify offers many branding opportunities (e.g., product customization, inside or outside neck labels, custom return labels with your business name and address). Orders are shipped in your brand name, while Printify remains invisible behind the scenes.
  • The Printify for WooCommerce plugin provides automated shipping calculations at check out.
  • Printify provides U.S. customers with Standard and Express shipping methods. Alternatively, Printify can be set to offer shipping based on flat rates and/or weight-based rates.

At the end of this article, we leave some reviews from member who used Printify

  • Printful is way more expensive than Printify, at least if you want to use it in Europe. What I like about them, is that you can select 1 item, at Printful will automatically decide to print it in the US or Europe taking into account the location of your customer. In Printify, this process is not automatic, and you need to have 2 SKUs (one for the US and another one for Europe) with the same design and t shirt model.
  • Printify has some great print providers and their prices are much lower. I would have to agree with the advice to order samples.
  • My experience is that Printify's best print providers are as good or better than Printful, but their prices are lower, so it's worth it to test a bit before getting started. Traditionally no retailer would sell anything without testing it. You really need to feel and see what your customers are going to get. ArtGun has never caused me any issues and they use Kornit printers, which are considered the best in the industry. ArtGun is a subsidiary of Delta, who have recently acquired DTG2Go. They're going to be expanding to a few different locations. This is going to be great advantage. DTG2Go automatically splits jobs based on the end consumer's address. This means shipping times will be greatly reduced. I asked Printify's customer care and they'll be integrating with DTG2Go as soon as the switch takes place.
  • We were in the same boat with printify and switched 90% of our product. The problem for me is their model, acting as the middleman. I’ve had mostly good/great experiences with their customer service.
  • I like printify because I link it directly to Etsy with minimal interaction of posting products. The bigger issue is the some providers that printify uses. The issue lies more on the supplier side than printify side. Customer service has been pretty good to me from printify, the only con is that they do tend to be somewhat slow in answering my messages... they do infect answer eventually lol
  • If you go with Printify, I would recommend sticking with print providers who are consistently reliable and offer good quality. The quality that ArtGun and FifthSun offer in regards to print quality and production time is really good. Also, T-shirts and Sons in the UK is pretty good.If you're planning on selling t-shirts, Bella and Canvas and Next Level 3600 are my favorites because of style and comfort.
  • Printify has amazing quality if you choose the right print provider. I've been working with them for a long time and I've experienced both the good and the bad. I'd definitely avoid MyLocker as they tend to have print errors, but I'd go for DTG2GO or the new print providers like TextilDruck, their quality is better than Printful's.
  • Printify doesn't have a mobile app. You can only use the mockup generator in a browser using the desktop version. I don't know about the iPhone, but with Android you can choose "desktop site" in the settings of the Chrome Browser and use the mockup generator. It's best on a laptop though.
