It’s mostly for product research for Shopify store owners, providing users with a wide range of winning products that can be easily be added to their store in a few clicks. The website recommends hundreds of different winning products in various niche categories, which you can pick and choose from to add to your own store or for researching.
There is also an ad spy feature that provides users with all kinds of analytic data regarding successful Facebook ads for winning products from around the world, which can be used to develop ad campaigns for similar products.
A Chrome extension has also been released as part of the software package. This is designed to help dropshipping stores to find winning products that respond when to advertising by showing users nothing but Facebook Ads.
All these functions aim to help make finding and researching winning products quick and easy. You can spy on products and adverts, see what’s performing well, and then decide whether these are worth adding to your own store and how to best advertise them.
Digital Spy is available for free, although this only provides limited access to features, such as only viewing certain products, with the rest locked behind a paid premium membership.
PRODUCT SPY
The core feature of Product Mafia is the aptly named Product Spy. This is a product spying tool that lets you analyze countless winning products curated by Product Mafia, which can then be added to your Shopify store in just a few clicks, potentially saving you hours of research.
Essentially, it’s a product research function. You can browse through countless products, apply different filters, and view analytics on each one, then make an informed decision on whether they are worth pursuing in your own shop.
There is a lot to like about this feature. It’s simple and easy to navigate, with categories and tags making it easy to filter out your searches for finding niche products.
While it may not have the same volume of products as some other product research tools, it focuses on quality over quantity – plus there are loads of products available anyway.
PRODUCT INFORMATION
Simply click on a product link to get all kinds of useful information including a description, selling price, product cost, and profit margin. Product Mafia hasn’t shared where it gets this price info from but it’s likely AliExpress, which is where most dropshipping products are sourced these days.
There are additional links for more info on each product. Profits show stats on profit margin CPA, and net profit, giving further insight into the potential profits you can make from any product.
The links take you to the product page on various platforms including the store selling the item, the FB ad and the supplier. Quite a cool feature for done for you product research. Of course they can’t be 100% sure it’s the same supplier but it’s a good start.
Next you’ll see a section with some Facebook Ads. For my example there was a link to the Facebook video allowing you to simply download this and reupload to your own ads. Cool!
Next was a section on recommended Instagram influencers and their account stats that might suit this product. I’m not sure if it was randomly generated but they did seem to be related to people who might share or use your product for a shoutout.
Next was a really nice feature, as I was browsing I couldn’t find any trademarked or copyrighted products which have plagued companies such as Drop Ship Spy and it was revealed on the page with this box.
Next was an interest targeting box which I assume is random rather than pulling this from the actual Facebook ads they were targeting. I’m not sure but it is a great feature to help beginners find the best targeting for their ads.
PRICING
Product Mafia is available as a free or Pro membership.
Free members have access to the same products as Pro members but with a 3-day delay, meaning a lot of the best products could already be snapped up by the time you see them.
Also, free members get some basic information on products, while Pro members get access to all the data in the Product Spy feature.
Pro membership costs $49 per month per user and will have access to all features and functions available from Product Mafia.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Product Mafia is flying under the radar and this is one of its biggest advantages. The product listings are varied and most of them have lots of potential for hot sellers, although it helps to get in early to avoid any stagnation.
The functions of the Product Spy tool are some of the most useful. It’s great for product research and saves a lot of time and effort thanks to the daily recommendations while making it easy to source suppliers for the products.
The Ad Spy is another incredibly useful feature for researching successful Facebook Ads, which you can use to develop your own ad strategies for your dropshipping business. The extension is a nice extra but isn’t as quite useful as the two core functions for product and advert research.
