Rapportive gives you information about people based on their email addresses. This free sevice will reveal their social media profiles, whether they are on any watchlists, and what type of spam they send. Rapportive also surfaces links to the person's LinkedIn page and Twitter account.
I’ve been taping the Rapportive link to all my colleagues’ email accounts for over six months now, and have found it to be incredibly useful. Beside, I used this sservices to all my colleagues’ email accounts too, you can try at here
I use Rapportive daily when I am looking at adding an email address to my roster of contacts. It helps me instantly determine what social profiles a person has, if they are on any privacy or sensitive lists (maybe a politician not allowed to read personal emails), and helps me quickly realize if the person is trying to sell me something.
Rapportive also has tools that lets you add links and images directly from your phone, which makes it extremely useful in the real world when you are on the go.inkerin’ around with Rapportive for a while, but I want to talk about how to make the most of the service.
One of the things I love about Rapportive is that it can share your information with anyone you choose. For example: If you are on my friend’s email list and want me to get an alert when they tweet, or if you know their LinkedIn profile and want me to check out who they work for (at least now they’ll have something else on their resume), then add them as a service provider.
You should change your permission settings on this site to include new friends and colleagues.esting its beta features for the last few weeks and I think it is getting better by the day!
The Online Retail Industry
When you think about online retail, many people visualize pure convenience. When you're not in a shopping mood, you don't feel like leaving your home to hunt for an item that you can get delivered to your doorstep in just a few days' time — but sometimes hunting down discounts can be just as difficult as going out into a crowded store.rvice automagically gives you the inside scoop on someone and allows you to find out information about them and connect with their social media accounts from within your email. Rapportive was acquired earlier this year by LinkedIn.
Features
Rapportive shows up as a sidebar when you open an email or compose a message. You will see a profile picture and the contact information below it. From this side bar you can click on links to connect with a person on social media. You can also use Rapportive to share information about yourself with others.
When Rapportive was first introduced, it was a nice way to start a conversation. Now that more applications have been added to the sidebar, the initial novelty of seeing contact information in email has worn off. The original use case was also limited since you could only see updated contact information if someone had updated their profile on Google, Facebook or Twitter. Additionally, Rapportive is not available on mobile devices which have become a primary way people access emails.
Return on I.P.O
Rapportive is a mobile app that for what it does, could raise quite a bit of money on an initial public offering (IPO). The company was acquired by LinkedIn for $90 million in 2011 and has since begun to make changes to its app including adding more data sources and functionality.
Rapportive has 1.5 million users sending 9 million data points each month. The company claims its feature set allows the user to have insights into their contacts while also being able to see what's happening in their social universe. In its most basic use case, the app helps users answer questions such as "how is my email marketing strategy working" or "what are my sales pipeline gaps?".nvestment:
Rapportive is free so it has no direct return on investment. However, when employees are more connected with their colleagues and less distracted with email they will be more productive and happy in their jobs.nvestment
It's allowed for people to find their favorite contacts easier and makes it easier for people to switch between email apps.
Usability
Rapportive is straightforward and easy to use but it is not intuitive for everyone. The fact that the website and the app are made by the same team may cause some confusion as individuals think they are using an app made by Google but they are not. This can lead to people thinking that Rapportive is a Google product which is a disservice to Google's reputation for building high-quality applications. However, the experience will be more valuable if other like-minded companies start using Rapportive along with Google as the company name. me to connect more efficiently with the people I'm communicating with via email.
I can see who the person on the other end of the screen is which can at times allow for more positive interactions.
Alternatives Considered
I've never used other tools like Rapportive so would be difficult to comment on how it stacks up against other tools like it.
Reports Usefulness
Every email/person is different and will have a different value of Rapportive. Sometimes its just nice to see who you are interacting with over an email.
Rapportive is free so there is no direct return on investment. However, when employees are more connected with their colleagues and less distracted by email they will be more productive and happy in their jobs.
Usability
Rapportive is straightforward and easy to use but it can be difficult for people to understand how to use it without some sort of training. It could also help improve the overall UX if people understood that Rapportive was a 3rd party tool. Another issue that comes up is that emails which have not been accessed in a week may no longer have profiles displayed in Rapportive which can lead to confusion.nvestment (ROI)
It makes it easier to communicate with people in my immediate work environment. For example, imagine that I just moved to a new city and didn't know anyone. If I were looking for housing, the owner of the house I might rent from would most likely not be someone I know - that was also not on social media (that's the case for me).d with LinkedIn Sales Navigator for Gmail (formerly Rapportive)
I do not generate reports with Rapportive. I use it to see professional information about the people I'm communicating with via email directly in my email interface.
It doesn't work as well if the people you email with don't use the particular email address for LinkedIn.
Rapportive: Getting Started
You can add Rapportive to your Gmail account by visiting the Rapportive website. Rapportive works on Chrome, Firefox or Safari browsers.
After you have added Rapportive, you will want to edit your profile. You can do this two ways. You can:
- click on the Rapportive link at the top of your Gmail home page or
- you can open an email message, go to the bottom of the Rapportive sidebar and click on My Profile.
You will be able to link your social media accounts and check your personal information. You want to be sure what others are seeing on Rapportive is the accurate information about you!
After you have set your profile, send yourself an email to check that the information being shown is accurate. If it isn’t, contact Rapportive to let them know.
Rapportive is a great way to get some insight into your email contacts, but if you don’t want it showing up in your inbox when you are getting emails from people that don’t have a social media account you can easily disable it and still keep the sidebar around to see the profile information of people who do have a social media account.
To disable the sidebar, click on My Profile > Settings > Social Media and turn off the Use Social Media button.
You will still be able to see who has a social media account, but it will not appear in your inbox. Don’t worry though they will still be able to see your personal information and who you follow!
If for some reason you would like to change your settings back to normal, search for “Rapportive” under the Settings menu (gear icon at top-right). Then choose "Social network" and "Edit profile". This will allow you to change your information on each social network that uses Rapportive.
Pros and Cons
Pros
Rapportive allows me to put a face to an email address, which adds a human element to the generic email communication.
The main benifit is the ability to directly converse with a contact without the hassle of switching between apps.
The website is organized in lists, which makes navigation easy and quick.
Allows for easy set-up, with no hoops to jump through.
Cons
Rapportive only works for Gmail users and only lets you add one account at a time. So if you switch between work an personal accounts, you'd need to log out of one before you logged in with another. It would be nice if Rapportive let us add as many Gmail accounts as we wanted, but it doesn't seem to do that.I can see the person's picture when I get an email from them and click on their photo, but it does not let me view the other information about them.
I also like how Rapportive automatically inserts a contact form, which lets me correspond with people even if they don't have my email address saved to their contact list.
Rapportive lacks many features that other Gmail plugins offer. It has no desktop notifications of new messages or updates when your contacts change their FaceBook status, friend count or interests.efit on Rapportive is that I can see the LinkedIn profile of the person I'm connecting with through email directly in my email client and connect with them If I'd like.
