repriceit reviews

Why RepriceIt is the best Amazon repricer tool for selling books?

Because responsive repricers aren’t up to the task of selling books on Amazon, the only alternative is a schedule-based repricer. And the only schedule-based repricer I’m aware of is RepriceIt. Even if there were alternatives, I don’t think I’d switch. RepriceIt is reliable, affordable, and hands-off — it does everything I need it to, and I don’t see how another tool could improve on its simplicity.

RepriceIt won’t crash your prices

Because you’re repricing every couple of hours instead of every couple of minutes, it’ll take longer for the price to drop.  RepriceIt doesn’t have this problem. Because it’s schedule-based, it will only lower the price a few times a day. This does make your offer less competitive, but it preserves the price, which I deem more valuable than increasing my odds of getting the next sale.

Look if you’re buying books in good and condition with decent sales ranks, they’re going to sell eventually. You might have to wait longer for the sale if you’re using RepriceIt instead of a responsive repricer, but it will come eventually. Once the more aggressive sellers with responsive repricers sell their copies, there’s a good chance the next sale will be yours.

RepriceIt's affordable

RepriceIt is the most affordable third party repricer out there. It starts at $9.95, and goes up based on the number of items in your inventory.

RepriceIt You can set it and forget it

One of the best things about RepriceIt is that you can basically forget it exists once you set it up. You can’t do that with responsive repricers, as they require constant maintenance and upkeep. I started an Amazon FBA business to provide me with passive income while I worked on other ventures (like this website). Spending an inordinate amount of time micromanaging my inventory pricing is antithetical to why I began doing this in the first place. So for me, while there might be slight benefits to micromanaging a responsive repricer, the extra effort required just isn’t worth it. My finite time on this Earth is better spent doing other things, and I assume the same is true of you.

  • Thinking of taking one of these repricers for a test ride soon. I feel like I'm leaving sales/$$ on the table so want to hear from others on their thoughts. Only have ~700 items on Amazon but plan on continuing to add at least 200-300 more in the near future. Pricing is not bad for Repriceit (charge by the month) but I'm leery about appeagle because they charge by the reprice, not the month so not sure how often the repricing is performed.
  • I used repriceit. Configuring it correctly was a HUGE pain, but you do have a lot of control over its triggers. I eventually stopped using it because I realized that if I didn't want to lose money I would have to manually set a floor price on every single item. Now I just set my price once and forget it, then come back a month or two later to lower the price.
  • I've recently grown my inventory to a level that I can no longer manage when it comes to pricing. I tried the free trial of AppEagle and liked the results, but hate the price. In order to make up for the $150 price, I'd essentially have to sell 15 books at my price floor which is not okay. I'm in the process of trying RepriceIT, which is only $10 a month for an inventory up to 500. I like that price a lot better, and while there is a lot more hands on activity with RepriceIT, I'm okay with that and am willing to do it for the $140 difference.
  • What I'm looking for in a repricer is a lot of adjustability. I want to have rules set up so that I can:
    • Reprice based on inventory age.
    • Reprice based on when competing with amazon.
    • Reprice based on a certain percentage of buy box when MFers (hehe)have the buy box.
    • Reprice based on sales rank and the amount of stock sellers with the lowest prices have. (No need to match an extraordinarily low price if the rank is good and stock is low).
    • Reprice based on a schedule to slow the race to the bottom. ---At the moment if I just put my actual minimum into the minimum price box all that happens is a race to the bottom. I want to be able to drop the price ever so slightly every so often so I can snag the buy box before someone else's repricer has the chance to catch up.
  • I use a repricer for any retail arbitrage items and wholesale items, including those with MAP. It allows me to stay competitive without checking on individual items everyday. I use repriceit.com (not affiliated with them in any way) and only end up paying $10 a month, which to me is worth it.
  • There are a lot of repricing software programs. Amazon's is free but a lot of people don't like it. I use RePriceIt, which works very well and offers you a lot of options to customize your parameters - which conditions and sales ranks of books to compare prices against, what % to go up or down, how often and when to automatically reprice, how much above or below the lowest price (or to match) etc.
  • I only have about a tenth of what you do but I use repriceIt. They charge by sku count 2000-5000 is 25 a month. The settings can get a little tricky depending on what you want it to do, but it seems to be endlessly customizable. I have mine at up to reprice 10 times a day, usually its just a couple cents in either direction but sometimes there are big jumps that you might miss manually. One tip I do have is to not set it so that you are the lowest. If someone else has a repricer with the same setting you will quickly start a race to the bottom.

Conclusion

So if you do need to use a repricer, I recommend using RepriceIt for the reasons stated in this article. I just wanted to clarify that manual repricing is an essential part of the process, and you shouldn’t rely on a repricer alone to keep your books competitive.
