About Vimeo
Vimeo is a US-developed, creative video sharing platform that allows you to upload and watch high-quality, long-form videos. Originally intended for aspiring filmmakers, the platform quickly attracted small businesses and innovative individuals looking for a user-friendly video-marketing tool, complete with on-site customization options. Considered to be YouTube’s more professional competitor, it appeals to a mature artsy crowd, rather than the casual vlogger.
Vimeo was created by a group of filmmakers who wanted an easy and beautiful way to share videos with their friends. Word started to spread, and an insanely supportive community of creators began to blossom. Vimeo empowers video creators and businesses of all kinds to tell exceptional stories and connect with their audiences, customers, and employees. Home to more than 90 million members in over 150 countries, Vimeo provides powerful tools for creators to host, share and sell videos, as well as video solutions to businesses for their internal communications and marketing needs.
How to use Vimeo for business?
Vimeo doesn’t require vast expertise to use and provides plenty of extra features so you can capture a broader audience.
- Promote your business in one space to manage and share your video content.
- Collaborate with your team through video review tools and video notes.
- Easily embed your videos on social media, in emails and on your website.
- Insert clickable call-to-actions and capture email addresses in videos to generate leads.
- Track your performance with Google Analytics to find out which videos have the highest engagement and produce the most leads.
How much is a Vimeo subscription?
Vimeo offers five different subscription levels, giving users plenty of flexibility. Plans start from the free Vimeo Basic subscription, which allows 500MB of uploads per week. The top of the line is its Premium plan which will set you back $75 a month, but offers almost unlimited Vimeo services, plus additional benefits like live streaming.
Vimeo Basic
Vimeo Basic is perfect for the casual user. You’ll get 500MB of upload space a week, across a maximum of ten videos, and a total of 5GB of account storage for no fee at all. It also provides access to basic analytics and embedding features.
Vimeo Plus
At $7 a month, Vimeo Plus gives you 5GB of uploads per week, advanced statistical analysis and video customization options, for the affordable price of two take-out coffees. With no team features included, this is ideal for any solo entrepreneurs out there.
Vimeo Pro
Tailor-made for small teams, a $24-monthly subscription to Vimeo Pro allows collaboration for up to three team members, along with 20GB of upload space a week. Compared to Vimeo Plus, you’ll get a higher level of statistical analysis, more in-video customization features, access to Vimeo-on-Demand and the ability to build a professional video portfolio for your business.
Vimeo Business
If you’re serious about video marketing, Vimeo’s $55-monthly subscription to its Business Plan offers everything you could need. From unlimited weekly uploads, and access for up to ten staff members, to interactive video edits for lead-generation and impressive Google Analytics software, it’s an unrivalled tool for small businesses.
Vimeo Premium
Costing $95 a month, the main difference with Vimeo Premium is the ability to live stream to an unlimited number of viewers, 7TB of storage space and increased user support. Customization features, team collaboration abilities and Google Analytics are impressive but no better than Vimeo Business.
