WHAT IS ZYRO?

Zyro

Zyro is a fast web development platform aimed at users with no coding skills. In fact, most of Zyro's target customers can use the tool without knowing anything about building a website. As long as you're familiar with the graphical user interface, you can use Zyro right away.

Besides a graphical user interface for web development, Zyro also provides related tools that can be of help to you. These include artificial intelligence (AI) content production scenarios, AI thermal diagrams to help control what customers focus on, and a huge arsenal of images to use as a resource.

Features

Blogging Tool

Zyro's simple blogging tool lets you craft posts, but it's not nearly as robust or intuitive as Wix or WordPress' content management systems. People accustomed to using WordPress may find it odd that they must add individual text and image sections within a post, instead of simply typing words and plopping in images. As a WordPress user, I was confused for a few minutes. Zyro could use a small explainer. Unfortunately, you cannot schedule posts, as you can using Wix. The otherwise-excellent Gator also lacks blog-scheduling capabilities.

Mobile Zyro

Zyro's automatically generated responsive mobile sites look terrific on the smaller devices. In fact, when you're in the desktop site editor, you can click the mobile icon to switch to the mobile editing view.

Like Wix, Zyro gives you the option of editing the mobile view if you're not happy with what it produces automatically. Though Zyro lets you tweak the interface color and enable gaps between grid items, it lacks some of Wix's functionality. Wix, for example, lets you add a Mobile Action Bar, so that visitors can email or call you with a tap of a finger.

Wix also offers mobile apps that let you upload photos from your smartphone, though you can't actually create and edit sites from the app (Weebly and Jimdo  boast this functionality). Zyro lacks mobile site-building apps.

E-Commerce Features

Zyro's e-commerce tools offer many money-making opportunities for your website. With those options, you can create a store that supports one of more than a dozen languages, and have it generate automatic shipping estimates based on customers' IP addresses, perform real-time shipment tracking, offer discounts, and enable favorites or wish lists. The store front's WYSIWYG editor lets you create media-rich, HTML product descriptions, too.

Accepting payments is a big part of e-commerce, so Zyro gives you many ways to do just that. Customers can pay for goods using PayPal, Stripe, 2Checkout, and dozens of other options.

Pros

  • Full eCommerce functionality
  • Great price
  • AI Writer & Heatmap features
  • Fluid UI
  • Drag & drop functionality

Cons

  • A lack of templates

PRICING

The Free plan has nearly all the features that the other plans do, with some limitations: you only get 500 MB of bandwidth and storage, you can’t connect a custom domain, and you don’t get integration with third-party services. You’ll also have Zyro ads on your website, in a sticky bar at the top of the page.

Upgrading to the Basic plan will give you access to all the features, let you remove the ads, and provide you with 10 GB each of bandwidth and storage. The Unleashed plan simply removes the bandwidth and storage limits entirely.

These paid plans are both significantly cheaper than most major site builders.

You can upgrade very easily, and you can pay with PayPal and all major credit cards.

Conclusions

The website builder industry is a competitive one - with new providers entering the market at an increased rate, the stakes are pretty high.

Zyro, however, seems like a promising project. The company appears to be transparent in that they don’t try to hide any issues or problems that their builder might have.

After some time revisiting Zyro, I'm very pleasantly surprised - the builder has grown a significant amount, and the team behind it have surely been working hard at perfecting the best version of their website builder possible. New-and-improved pricing plans, domain and other platform integrations, eCommerce, AI Writer & Heatmap... Definitely a huge leap forward, as far as this Zyro review is concerned!

As for the builder itself, while in minor situations it may seem that it lacks some smoothness at times, and is missing several features, the general impression is rather positive. It’s a work in progress, but the builder features a drag-and-drop editor, e-commerce, various editing AI tools, free image options, and so on.
