Social Media Management can no longer be ignored in the marketing activities of companies. Small companies, large companies and marketing agencies cannot do without good social media tools. It is not without reason that the landscape of Social Media Management tools has exploded, and free and paid alternatives are available in abundance.

I have reviewed TaileWind - another Social Media Management tool here. You may also take a look at this tool to compare its features

SocialPilot, together with tools like Buffer and Hootsuite, is at the top of the food chain regarding Social Media Management Tools. I once delved into this SocialPilot review.

What can you do with Social Pilot?

SocialPilot offers an extensive set of monitoring functions, setting up, scheduling and sending Social Media posts for multiple platforms. Besides, there are even more functions that can help you get more out of Social Media Marketing.

Set up for this SocialPilot Review

The set-up is super fast. You link Social Media accounts to SocialPilot very quickly, and you can get started right away with a great user experience. If you can't figure it out, you will be helped by a real-time help function, and you can get support.

I also think the tool looks great, and it is immediately clear to me where functions are located. There is a main menu with items such as Messages, Analytics and Accounts, and they have a deeper level as a sub-menu. With Messages, for example, you have functions such as Create post, Calander or Bulk schedule. Several functions at a glance.

Drafting and scheduling Social Media posts

Creating a post is about the same with SocialPilot as with other tools such as Buffer. You can approach this in various ways, such as modifying an existing post. When composing a new social media post, you can insert a URL to a landing page. Based on this, SocialPilot automatically suggests the media you may want to show.

SocialPilot supports various Social Media platforms:

- LinkedIn,
- Twitter,
- Facebook, Instagram,
- Google my business,
- TikTok,
- VK
- Tumblr.

The tool offers several options for different platforms. For example, manage your Facebook Boost Posts and Lead ads via this social media software.

External content sources for the enrichment of posts

A nice functionality adds content from external content generation providers such as .gifs from Giphy or images from a Canva link. A nice feature! Posts can also be built from feed content, and posts can be saved as a draft for later editing.

This feature is powerful, fast and simple. Posts can also easily be used on other platforms and can be adapted per platform if necessary.

A missed opportunity from SocialPilot: When composing a Twitter message and inserting a hashtag, SocialPilot does not provide suggestions for other hashtags.

Visual calendar display for post planning

After composing the message, it can be scheduled, even for several moments. That's nice. After the post layout, I miss a visual representation of the calendar and how it compares to other posts when planning.

After compiling the post, you can consult a visual calendar view, for example, by week or month, and move posts here by drag and drop. A delightful position!

Posts can also be curated, and content from third parties can be picked up for use as post content, for example, via feeds.

: -) Bulk Schedule, yeah !!

Tip: Bulk Schedule. A nice feature to mention is that of the Bulk Schedule. You can upload a .csv file based on which SocialPilot prepares messages for scheduling. So you can set up your messages in advance and upload them in one go to add to the tool, nice! Bulk damage is possible up to 500 image posts!

SocialPilot analytics and reports

socialpilot review - analysis and reporting

All your posts can be followed extensively. What was the reach, what is the click behaviour, and that kind of data can all be read? Not only the posts but the entire social media account is extensively displayed in a dashboard.

Pay attention; there is no historical data loaded, so you go and posts the results only measure from the time you activate the Pilot Social account. SocialPilot also offers the possibility to respond to Social Media messages.

Huh??

I don't see any Analytics on Instagram. I've also heard this from other SocialPilot users; this isn't the most comprehensive tool in terms of Instagram.

Teams and collaboration

An interesting function to work with several people on Social Media Marketing is that of Teams. You can add team members and invite them to participate.

You can also invite customers to collaborate through SocialPilot through this feature. An interesting functionality for marketing agencies.

Support

An FAQ overview can be accessed from the tool. Here you will find information about how everything works for each main activity. This is a pervasive database.

A support question can also be asked via a form. I don't see a chat or phone number in this corner of the website to contact directly.

Costs and pricing structure of SocialPilot

socialpilot review pricing plan

Have you read enough and get started with the 14-day Trial? Then click here.

SocialPilot has 4 price levels, the fourth of which is a customized price. You pay the price per month for using the tool, and you can choose to pay the subscription costs per year. This provides a significant discount of more than 10% with any pricing plan.

The price structure based on monthly payment:

  • Agency: 100 p / m
  • Small Team: 50 p / m
  • Professional: 30, - p / m

This is similar pricing to other tools of this level, such as Hootsuite and Buffer. Although Buffer, for example, is cheaper at the bottom of the market at only 15 - per month.

Benefits of SocialPilot

  • Powerful machine for drafting, scheduling and posting social media messages. SocialPilot excels at this.
  • Strong tool for working on social posts and planning with teams. Also, a handy tool for marketing agencies to collaborate with customers on their social media reach.
  • Good pricing compared to other tools in the higher packages.

The Disadvantages of SocialPilot

  • The Instagram options are not as simple as with tools such as Buffer
  • For companies that opt for the cheapest price plan, SocialPilot is not the cheapest.
  • There is a test plan to test the tool for 14 days. Other tools such as Buffer offer a free test variant or a 30-day trial so that you have more time to test.
  • Focus is mainly on planning, posting and distributing social content. The social listening function is less strong.

SocialPilot final verdict

It is not without reason that SocialPilot is one of the most used tools for Social Media Management. It is easy to use, stable and the functions are extensive. Much thought has been given to the application of Social Media Management as agencies and teams do at larger organizations. Creating and scheduling posts is very easy. This is definitely a strength of SocialPilot.

Here and there, I miss some tricks that I have seen with other tools, but those are not imperfections. A weak point is the Instagram functionality. Insta posts can be set up in SocialPilot, but the distribution requires manual handling. There is also no analytics for Instagram accounts.

Not an issue for me, so I appreciate SocialPilot as a potent, user-friendly tool to collaborate on professional Social Media Marketing. Especially when it comes to drafting, scheduling, sending and monitoring social posts, it offers more than enough!
